In addition to inspecting all building, plumbing, electrical, heating, venting and air conditioning (HVAC) work, the Building Inspector also reviews building plans, collects building permit fees and conducts on-site inspections.

  • Enforce Lisbon's building and inspection codes
  • Make on-site inspections to insure compliance and enforcement of the Zoning and Building Codes
  • Authorize orders to stop work when in violation of any Lisbon Ordinance
  • Process applications, make all inspections and issue certificates of occupancy

Permits & Requirements

All types of construction in Lisbon require a permit. This includes, but is not limited to, additions, remodeling, sheds, decks, and pools. Along with the application, two copies of plans must be submitted, as well as two copies of your property survey with the improvement shown on the survey, if your improvement is outside the home.

If you do not have a copy of your property survey, please call or email Village Hall and they can check to see if they have one on file for you. If they do not, they can generate a to-scale GIS map for you. If the improvement is out of the home (exterior) and have a mound or septic system, please contact Waukesha County Health Department for a Preliminary Site Evaluation at 262-896-8300.

Download forms and applications or contact Bryan Oelhafen and he will send you the form(s) you need.

View the Permitting Process page for more information on specific permits.
