1. Why am I charged a storm water fee?

It is a financial tool that creates a separate fund within a local government for addressing non-point source pollution (storm water runoff) and flooding, created by the Wisconsin Legislature. It also requires municipalities reduce polluted storm water runoff by implementing storm water management programs with best management practices.

These monies are used for storm water control which includes culvert replacements, ditching, grading, seeding, concrete/asphalt work as well as state and federal permitting. This charge is in arrears, paying for the current year at the end of the current year. For example, your 2023 property tax bill includes a storm water fee for the 2023 year.

2. Why are there two garbage charges on my tax bill?

If you moved into a home near the end of the year, you may notice a prorated charge for Garbage Service for the current year and also a full charge for the next year. Please note, Garbage service is billed in advance or prepaid. For example, your 2023 property tax bill includes a garbage charge for the 2024 year.

3. Where do I pay my taxes?

Tax payments can be mailed in the envelope provided within the tax bill. Payments can be dropped in any of the 3 Village Drop Boxes (Village Hall & both Fire Stations). Drop boxes are emptied daily. Payments may also be dropped off at the Village Hall through January 31st. Please check the tax insert letter included with your bill for dates, times and holiday hours. 

After your tax payment has been processed, a receipt will be mailed to you.
